Voyager Headset, Hard at Work and at Play
Moms Who Are Busy Professionals Really Can Have It All
Balancing time between work and family can be a constant challenge, particularly for today's mothers. Take Alyson, for example, a very busy exec with two small boys, who is constantly on the move. Alyson is Worldwide Director of External Communications for a large technology company in Silicon Valley, which means she interfaces with the press and analysts all day, and often at night. She manages fifteen people who are located all throughout the U.S. and deals with many more employees around the globe. Yet she still enjoys quality time with her kids, taking them regularly to school or to the park.
How can one person manage all this? For starters, Alyson works almost exclusively out of her home office, and only goes in to corporate headquarters for meetings. She carries her Bluetooth® enabled HP iPAQ PocketPC wherever she goes so she can pick up a call from a journalist or check her e-mail while she's away from her home office.
Being On Call Wherever You Are
As you can imagine, productivity is key for a busy professional like Alyson. That's why she felt like her life was transformed with the Plantronics® Voyager 510 Bluetooth headset. Though she was no stranger to the hands-free convenience of Plantronics products – using the MX150 with her iPAQ and the CT12 in her home office – the leap to wireless was particularly appealing. "Though I loved using my MX150," she explains, "having the Plantronics Voyager has opened up all kinds of new possibilities for me! I never realized how convenient it is to have my phone in my purse and just answer a call via the headset on my ear. It's amazing!"
Other than the advantage of wireless capabilities, Alyson appreciates the features that the Plantronics Voyager headset provides. For example, she uses the call answer/end button on the headset 100% of the time that she uses her mobile phone—;which is several hours a day. She also enjoys the lightweight design and comfort. "Sometimes I practically forget that I'm wearing it," she comments. "I think it's great that I could choose the size of earbud to fit me the best." She also uses the volume control and mute button directly on the headset, particularly for conference calls with ten or more participants on the line—;though everyone always hears her clearly, she sometimes needs to turn up the volume to hear others.
As a conscientious mom, Alyson is also concerned about safety. "When I'm driving with my boys in the car, I certainly don't want to be digging around in my purse for my phone," she says. "With the Plantronics Voyager, I never even have to touch my phone. I just use voice-activated dialing and hit one button on my headset. It's really a lot safer. Not to mention that having no wires means I can run several yards away to play with my kids and still take calls, even when my phone is sitting in the backpack at the park."
No Compromises
As a result of using her Plantronics Voyager headset, Alyson is now a Bluetooth enthusiast. She finds the sound quality to be "fantastic" even in noisy environments, and the convenience to be unparalleled. "I was pleasantly shocked when I started using this headset," she says. "I was so happy with my corded one, but this is incredible. It's easy to set up, small, comfortable, and it's just great to be able to use it when it's not physically connected to my phone." Now that she's gone wireless, she'll never go back.
