APU-7/APU-70/APU-71 (EHS Cable): How to Install on an Avaya Phone

This procedure explains how to install the APU-7/APU-70/APU-71 EHS cable, which is compatible with the following Avaya (formerly Nortel) phone models:

  • 1120E
  • 1140E
  • 1150E
  • 1165E

Procedure

Phone Settings

  • Avaya/Nortel phones require volume adjustment for best headset audio. While in a call using a headset, press the volume adjust buttons on the phone until the phone volume indicator shows 2 bars.
  • The USB port has to be enabled on the phone. To do so, press the Services button twice, select Preferences, select Headsets, select Change headset type to, and then press Apply.

To Install the EHS Cable

  1. On your base, set your compatibility switch and speaking and listening volumes to the following:
     

    Setting CS50/CS55/CS70/CS70N/ CS351N/CS361N
    Cable APU-7
    CS500 Series
    Cable APU-70 or APU-71
    Savi Office/700 Series
    Cable APU-70 or APU-71
    Compatibility 1 A A
    Speaking Volume B 4 4
    Listening Volume 2 3 3
