CS60-USB: How to Adjust the Volume

How do I adjust the volume of the CS50-USB/CS60-USB headset?

Procedure

To Adjust the Listening Volume:

You can adjust the listening volume of the CS60-USB in 3 locations:

  • On the headset itself.
  • The settings of your soft phone.
  • Your computer's volume controls.

To make adjustments on the headset itself, use the black wheel on the top of the headset. If wearing the headset on your right hear, slide the dial up to increase and down to decrease your volume. This is reversed if wearing the headset on your left ear.

Plantronics recommends keeping your soft phone and computer settings at a constant, moderate level, and using the CS-60 USB volume wheel to make adjustments from call to call.

If you press the black dial into the headset, the mute feature will turn on, and you'll hear occasional beeps to notify you that you're on mute as well as the green light on the base station of the CS60-USB flashing quicker that it normally does whilst in use. Press the button again to turn off the mute feature.

To Adjust the Microphone Volume:

The volume of the CS60-USB microphone can be adjusted in 2 ways:

  • The settings of your soft phone.
  • Your computer's volume controls.

Check to be sure that the microphone on the headset is positioned near the corner of your mouth.

If you experience trouble hearing or being heard, check to be sure that your battery is fully charged and that you are within the range of the charging base.

If either volume is set too high, you may encounter acoustic problems such as distortion, feedback, or an echo. We recommend keeping your soft phone and computer settings at a constant, moderate level, and using the CS60-USB volume wheel to make adjustments from call to call.
