Discovery 975: How to Pair

How do I pair my Discovery 975 with my cell phone or other device?

First Time Pairing:

The Discovery 975 is equipped with QuickPair technology, which means that the first time you turn on the headset, it automatically enters pairing (discoverable) mode, so that you can quickly and easily connect it with your cell phone or other device. The headset remains in pairing mode for 10 minutes. After you pair the headset successfully, it remains powered on for immediate use. If you are not able to pair the headset successfully, it powers itself off. Simply power on to try the pairing process again.

Subsequent Pairing:

If you need to pair the Discovery 975 to your cell phone again, or to an additional device, you can do so by performing the following:

  1. On your cell phone, make sure Bluetooth is turned on.
  2. Start with the headset powered off. Press and hold the power button for about 5-6 seconds until the light on the headset starts flashing an alternating red-white. Release the power button and set the headset aside.
  3. On your cell phone, go to the Bluetooth menu and search for (or add) a device. The cell phone should find the headset. The Discovery 975 will appear as "9xxPlantronics" in your list of devices.
  4. If prompted for a passkey, enter 0000 (four zeros). Note: Do not be alarmed if your phone does not prompt you for a passkey, because many phones do not.

Note about Multipoint:

The Discovery 975 is equipped with multipoint technology, but the feature is turned off by default. If you would like to use your headset with two devices, be sure to turn multipoint on.
