On September 12, 2017 a cyber security research company Armis announced details of implementation vulnerabilities in the operating systems used on widely used consumer electronics devices. Full details of that announcement can be seen on their website and also published by CNET (Click here to view article).
Impacted devices include mobile devices that use an operating system such as IOS, Android, Linux or Windows. As with most security vulnerabilities the affected manufacturers have released updates and patches to address the issue. Plantronics is not on the list of affected companies. Products from Plantronics which use Bluetooth technology do not use nor include those known affected operating systems. Plantronics has reviewed the vulnerabilities described by Armis (Click here to view report) and there is no expectation that our implementation of Bluetooth technology is vulnerable in similar ways and means.
