Plantronics Manager/Pro Release Notes 3.10.1

September 25, 2017: Plantronics Manager and Plantronics Manager Pro 3.10.1 Maintenance Release

What's New – Plantronics Developer Connection (API Open Data Access)
  • Asset Analysis API:  Added the ability to query hosts with zero devices (Device Distribution)
Resolved Issues
  • Accounts page not displaying correctly after adding over 41 Administrators
  • The Anti-Startle default value in Plantronics Hub is different than the default value in Plantronics Manager Pro for the Encore Pro 725 device.
  • The sorting of Hosts (Inventory | Hosts) by the “Last Polled” column appears to sort in a random order when multiple users share the same host.  Only pulling in the last users last connection timestamp now so the Last Polled can be sorted accurately.
  • The filtering of Hosts (Inventory | Hosts) by the “Status” column not working correctly when multiple users share the same host.  Changing Status to “Multiple” when a Host has both inactive and active associated users.
  • Device not always deleted when all users of the specific device have been deleted.
  • In the Company Snapshot | Plantronics Hub module we are now displaying software versions per host rather than per user.
  • Plantronics Manager Pro user interface showing “Real Time” instead of “Streaming”.  Modified to be consistent with our Plantronics Developer Connection terminology.
Plantronics Developer Connection (API Open Data Access)
  • Passing an empty value for muteusageLevel throw a 400 error.
  • Attempting to access API’s from an unsubscribed suite provides response of “Ok” rather than Suite Not Subscribed
  • Detected date for “Other Manufacturers” devices not available in API.
  • Updated the Conversation Analysis API to not limit page count to 10 and to sort by date, most recent first
Known Issues
  • Error 403:  Error can appear when running a report for a large dataset for a long time period (year or better).  Shorten time period as a work-around.
  • Applications page in Plantronics Manager Pro may show applications in Pending state even if they are authorized until the page is refreshed.
  • PDC | API:  Call Summary API showing zero for all percentages
  • Reports | The product filter for reports only show the Bluetooth adapter.  All events are associated to the Bluetooth adapter and as a result, the associated headset is not selectable in the product filter.
  • Intermittently SW Version status and Device Distribution report states aren't updated for more than 30 minutes
  • Voyager 3200: When Policy deployed locking the PC ringtone setting to OFF, it ends up locked to Tone 1 in Hub
  • Devices with no related users are not deleted
  • Putting call on hold from Skype for Business UI will trigger a call end event in reports
  • After FW update that changed device's pid, there is no information about pid change
  • Reports can't be loaded on Mozilla Firefox when cache isn't deleted for some time
  • Color of the Bar for users without policy becomes invisible when more than 10 records are present in report
  • Data with apostrophe isn't correctly displayed in csv report document although in table insight it is
  • Inactive and Active devices can't be distinguish with ease due to fact that insight colors for this groups are very similar
  • Avaya One X Communicator Mac Versions are incorrectly displayed in Softphone status report insight

SaaS Release Notes 3.10

July 20, 2017: Plantronics Manager and Plantronics Manager Pro 3.10 General Distribution Release

What's New - General

  • Policy Page | Improved Policy User Experience

[Plantronics Manager Pro]  In 3.9, the firmware and software update deployment mechanism was replaced with Policies.  A policy was auto-generated for each device type found in the environment.  IT could then customize and enable this default policy as needed.  This made it simple for IT but created a very cluttered page preventing IT from locating devices they wanted to manage as well as identifying policies that had already been enabled.

We are modifying this behavior in 3.10 to allow IT to create Policies only for those devices they need to manage.  Default policies will no longer be created.  If IT would like to enforce a setting or an update, they must create a policy and customize.  The elimination of the auto-creation of default policies will provide IT with a much cleaner interface and more efficient interactions.  This change impacts both previously created policies as well as the flow for creating new policies.  Here are the details:

    • Previously auto-generated policies that are in an inactive state will be removed
    • Previously auto-generated policies that are in an active state will persist
    • Auto-generated policy name of “default” will now be editable and can be renamed as needed
    • Auto-generated default policies were previously hard-coded to apply to “all users”.  This is now editable and the policy can now be applied to a user group.
    • All policies can now be deleted
    • Pre-configure button removed from upper right
    • During policy creation, IT can choose to create a policy for an existing device or can choose to create a policy for a device not yet found in their environment.  Latter option provides pre-configuration capability for devices.

  • Policy Page | Improved performance (Plantronics Manager/Pro)
  • Policy Page | Policies cannot be created for devices without settings or firmware updates.  These will appear in the list of devices but in a greyed out state. (Plantronics Manager/Pro)
  • Policy Page | Clarified the count on the device policy bar.  Now shows image of headset to indicate the number of active devices impacted by the policies for that device. (Plantronics Manager Pro)
  • Notifications | Release Notes are now available from the notification table in addition to within the Policy.
  • Navigation | Inventory moved above Policy section in the left side nav. (Plantronics Manager Pro)
  • Single Sign-on | Added SSO for administrators/users of Plantronics Manager Pro.  Both Identify Provider (IdP) initiated SSO via SAML 2.0 and Service Provider (SP) initiated SSO are supported.  Once configured, Plantronics Manager Pro can be accessed by selecting the Single Sign-on button in the Plantronics Manager Pro login dialog (SP initiated) or can be accessed by selecting Plantronics Manager Pro from your list of IdP applications (IdP initiated).  (Plantronics Manager Pro)

April 18, 2017: Plantronics Manager and Plantronics Manager Pro 3.9.2 (Build 151492) Maintenance Release

What's New - General
N/A

What's New – Reports
N/A

Deprecated Features
N/A

Resolved Issues
  • Version Status Report:  Compliance count and total device count incorrect.  Previously showing device used in calls, now showing all devices regardless of call usage.
  • There is no mail or home notification regarding downloaded CSV (Entire Dataset) for Device Inventory
  • Softphones plugin modules changed by user are overridden by default values when there is no active policy
  • Admin Report settings should not appear for the Voyager Focus device.
  • Please note that the two issues below describe a resolution that applies only to Plantronics Manager Pro.  Plantronics Manager customers must identify and remove the latest FW updates for the devices mentioned below from their file shares.
    • Some devices would occasionally stop working following a firmware update.  The issue is resolved in Plantronics Hub 3.9.2.  For this reason, Plantronics Manager Pro will not show the latest firmware update for the following devices in any version of Plantronics Hub prior to 3.9.2.
      • Savi w7xx:   ac01, ac11
      • Savi 4xx:  ab01, ab02, ab11, ab12
      • MDA 200:   ad03
      • MDA 220:   ad04
End users will not see the firmware update as being available to them unless they are on Plantronics Hub 3.9.2 or better even if a firmware update policy has been created.
  • Blackwire devices listed below could cause issues with other Conexant based devices and for this reason, the latest firmware update was removed from Plantronics Manager/Pro.  The issue is resolved in Plantronics Hub 3.9.2.  Identical to the issue above, Plantronics Manager Pro will not show the latest firmware update for the following devices to end users unless they are on Plantronics Hub 3.9.2 or better.

End users will not see the firmware update as being available to them unless they are on Plantronics Hub 3.9.2 or better even if a firmware update policy has been created.

Known Issues
  • Policy:  Devices such as the Encore that do not have firmware update capability, still show the firmware configuration area in the policy.
  • Voyager Legend, Voyager Pro UC2, Blackwire C710/720: “Special Mode” settings available in all of these devices are not configurable until a firmware update is made available by the IT Admin.  In Plantronics Manager Pro, this means the IT admin must enable the default policy (or create a custom) for each of these devices and specific a firmware version OR set version to “apply latest from Plantronics”.  In Plantronics Manager, IT must download a firmware archive for each of these devices and place it in their identified file share.  If a firmware update file is not downloaded/deployed, the end user will get an error message when attempting to modify any of these settings.
  • Blackwire 725:  When policy set to lock Mute Reminder to Audible Reminder, Plantronics Hub uses the On-Screen Reminder instead and it is locked.
  • Report:  Some filters are not applied properly on child pages when viewing the Device Distribution and Device Adoption reports.
  • Plantronics Manager:  User cannot change language if IT has set the FW update to “Retain User Setting” in the Policy archive file.
  • Report:  TWA Report showing events when system is shut down
  • PLT Manager 3.8.4 & 3.9: downloaded DOC table for Version Status, Firmware doesn't have headlines
  • PLT Manager Pro: Manual group with at least 51 users can't be deleted
  • Report: Top 25 User filter option doesn't display all relevant users on the Conversation details report
  • Blackwire 725: Voice offered as a selectable value for Mute On/Off Alerts setting, but voice not supported on HS
  • Blackwire: Dial Tone setting cannot be set or locked to OFF
  • Report:  Softphone version report not showing last used date for inactive devices
