CS500 Series Troubleshooting: Vibrating Headsets


I'm hearing a noise in my CS500 series headset that is similar to the sound of a motorboat engine, and the headset itself is vibrating or humming. Is there anything I can do to fix this?


  1. Make a test call using the telephone handset. While in the call, adjust the handset volume to a comfortable listening level, and then move the volume up one level above that.
  2. Adjust the configuration dial to 2 for both transmit and receive volume. This dial can be found at the bottom of the base, as shown below:

  3. Unplug the headset base from its power supply, and then plug it back in.
  4. Make a call on the headset and determine whether or not the audio issues have improved.
  5. If the issues have not improved, please contact our Technical Assistance Center for further assistance.
