I am using a Plantronics headset with an APC-4/APC-40/APC-41/APP-5/APP-50/APP-51, and the headset seems to drop the link after 45 seconds. Is there anything I can do to fix this?
You are using the APC-4, APC-40, APC-41, APP-5, APP-50, or APP-51 EHS (Electronic Hook Switch) cable with a compatible Cisco desk phone and the headset seems to turn off or drop its link to the base after about 45 seconds.
Your phone is not configured correctly. You need the "Electronic Hook Switch" feature on the phone turned on.
This feature can only be activated by your IT or phone system support. Ask them to verify both the headset jack and hook switch features are enabled for your extension. After they make the system side change, reset your phone by unplugging the line cord and re-connecting it.
