Question

Why isn't multipoint working with my 500A (510S base unit)?

Answer

The 500A (510S base unit) uses the "headset" (HSP) profile. If the cell phone is using the same profile, you will have to go out of range of the 500A in order to connect to the cell phone. If you can, change the profile within the cell phone to use the "handsfree" (HFP) profile. Doing so will eliminate this issue.
