QuestionCisco IP Communicator (CIPC) ends the primary call when I receive a second incoming call from a sub-line. Why does this happen?
AnswerThe "Ring Setting of Busy Station" setting defines how Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) will notify a busy station during a second incoming call. Since the CIPC API does not manage multiple calls, our Spokes/Hub and Native CIPC implementation does not work appropriately when CIPC is set to Ring (a common, but not default system setting). To resolve this issue we recommend changing the ring setting to "Beep Only", as shown below.
Or, if the default setting is set to "Beep Only", we recommend changing the Ring Setting to "Use System Default".
