Question

I hear strange noises on my CS50-USB headset.  What should I do?

Answer

If you hear strange noises in your CS50-USB/CS60-USB headset,
  1. Make sure the speak (transmit) level is not too high. Click here for instructions.
If you continue to hear noise, it might be due to electrical interference. Electrical problems generally sound like steady or pulsing hums rather than static, white noise, or echoes. Electrical interference can be caused by the following: Intermittent buzzing can be caused by electrical equipment located in the immediate area of the telephone and headset system, such as computers, speakers, fax machines, wireless routers, surge protectors, etc.  Frequently, power cords and cables that are bundled together will cause buzzing. The best solution is to keep this type of equipment as far from the headset as possible.
